Financial advising is in my blood—so much so that it wasn’t even really a question of whether or not I’d spend my life helping others with their finances. My father has been in the financial services industry since before I was born, and since we all know that in parenting more is caught than taught, I caught the finance bug, followed in my dad’s footsteps, and have never looked back.
The Beginning
I learned a lot from my dad growing up. I invested in my first mutual fund in middle school and tracked my investments diligently. My dad passed on not only his financial knowledge but also his values and principles of putting clients first, going the extra mile, and building a solid foundation for the rest of your life. I took all that he taught me and added to it a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cedarville University and a Master of Science degree in financial planning and services from Golden Gate University, along with the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation. I then joined my dad at Wurz Financial Services and have spent the last 5 years operating our Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati office.
My Role Today
Today, I’m both the numbers guy and people guy at our firm. I use my quantitative, analytical, and technical skills to help my pre-retiree clients address both their complex situations and unpredictable market cycles while also interacting with my clients, getting an understanding of their goals, values, and circumstances so I can guide them as they navigate life’s many decisions and transitions.
Challenges And Victories
My job is fulfilling, but that doesn’t mean it’s without its challenges. It can be difficult to find the right clients who want a long-term relationship and are willing to do the work necessary to reach their goals. But when I do form a solid client relationship, there’s nothing better than seeing their accounts grow and watching them get closer to their ideal financial future, whatever that may look like for them. My clients tend to like that too!
Plan With Care, Live With Courage
While I may offer similar services to other financial professionals, I’m different from the rest. I’m a truly independent advisor who doesn’t cut corners when it comes to putting your best interests first. I create customized plans to suit your needs and your life, and I’m proactive about providing you with sophisticated strategies to both grow and protect your wealth. And best of all, it’s my name on the door! That means I’m in it for the long haul.
